Devil in a Blue Dress was the first installment of Walter Mosley's Easy Rawlins series. One of my favorite authors, this is indeed a CLASSIC in my eyes. I admire and love in particular his use of dialogue, dialect, and rich, living, breathing characters that are all unique. His ability to capture Los Angeles (Watts et al) of that era is fantastic.
